What is the focus of Women on Wellness?

  • Empowering women to take charge of their health;
  • Helping women find ways to improve their lives each day

What will we do?

  • Learn how to balance our mind, body and soul through a variety of group and individual activities you choose to sample during the day
  • Learn how to take control of your own wellness
  • Have fun doing good things for ourselves and others
  • Develop strategies for changing the way we feel and think about ourselves
  • Create an individualized wellness program
  • Understand the impact my health-related lifestyle choices have on others

Who/What will be there?

  • Other women like you
  • Local wellness providers
  • Holistic providers
  • Movement providers
  • Women from the National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health
  • Health screening opportunities

The day begins with  registration and a light-fare breakfast. Dr. Julie Smith leads the starting “Center Yourself” session that helps participants understand the science behind the Women on Wellness program.  Participants will not sit for long because the next session is designed to get everyone up and moving!  With activities for every skill set, participants use this opportunity to learn more about activities to get them moving and staying healthy.  Lunch is filled with nutritious food and important information regarding nutrition.  Dr. Julie Smith will be back after lunch to continue to guide participants on their change journey in the Personal Roadmap session.  Participants will return a “buffet” style selection educational opportunities  from health screenings, heart health, women and stroke, perinatal wellness, HPV vaccine, breast health, understanding your medicines etc..  From Massage Therapy to Yoga sessions, there are activities for everyone to try out.  One final get-together to complete you Healthy Lifestyle Action Plan and then it is time to head home – energized and excited!
